PROGRAM MISSION:
The purpose of this course is to provide English language instruction for limited English proficient adults which will increase their ability to communicate in English.

SCOPE OF THE PROGRAM:

here are six levels of basic Adult English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) instruction and one level of Academic Skills or preparation for higher education. ESOL courses are designed to improve the employability of foreign speakers through the acquisition of communication skills, which enhance the reading, writing, speaking and listening comprehension abilities in the English language, and in the culture of the United States. Other ESOL courses are Citizenship, Workforce Readiness and Vocational English for Speaker of Other Languages (VESOL).

Programs are provided days, evenings and Saturdays by the adult centers, technical centers and community schools throughout Broward County.

FUNDING:
This program is funded through Broward County Public Schools’ Workforce Development Funds.

FEES:
There are no fees to eligible participants.
