PROGRAM MISSION:
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for academic and personal success through obtaining the necessary skills required to pass the Official GED Test and be awarded a State of Florida High School Diploma. This program strives to motivate students not only to obtain a GED but also to utilize the acquired skills in the workforce and to achieve career and vocational training and job placement success.

SCOPE OF PROGRAM:
The GED program isentry/exit, with self-paced instructional modules, and flexible schedules. A variety of resources, including computers, tape recorders, cassette players, videos, CD-ROMS, interactive videos, and assignments, are in GED courses. Programs are provided days, evenings and Saturdays by the adult centers, technical centers and community schools at over 200 locations throughout Broward County. Those schools include:

FUNDING:
This program is funded through Broward County Public Schools’ Workforce Development Funds.

ELIGIBILITY:
All residents of Broward County, sixteen years of age or older who are officially withdrawn from an elementary or secondary school without a high school diploma, are eligible for services.

FEES:
There are no fees to eligible participants for GED Preparation, however, there is a $50 charge to take the GED Exam.
