HAITIAN JOB DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

PROGRAM: Haitian Job Development Program/English and Math for Creole-speaking adults

AGENCY: Catholic Charities, Emma De Jean 524-4122

PROGRAM MISSION: To offer job preparation language skills to the Haitian community.

SCOPE OF THE PROGRAM: To teach sufficient English skills so that most of the students will be able to communicate with their employers. At times, an advanced or intermediate class is offered. The program uses the Laubach "Way to Reading" workbook and skillbook 1-2-3-4. Classes are held from 10a.m. to 12 noon Monday through Thursday.

FUNDING: The program is funded by the United Way and the Archdiocese of Miami.

ELIGIBILITY: Students must be adults over the age of 18.

FEES: None, the program is free.
