PROGRAM MISSION: The primary goal is to break the intergenerational
cycle of undereducation and poverty by improving parents' basic skills and attitudes
toward education, increasing children's literacy skills, improving parenting skills and
the overall parent-child relationship.
SCOPE OF THE
PROGRAM: The program serves approximately 25 families with pre-K to 3rd grade
children in evening classes.
FUNDING:
School board and a grant from
the Governor's Family Literacy Initiative for Florida, a program of the Barbara Bush
Foundation for Family Literacy and the Annenberg Challenge.
ELIGIBILITY: All families with children in pre-K to 3rd grade
who resident in the Lauderdale Lakes community and surrounding areas are eligible.
FEES: The program is free. |
