PROGRAM: Growing With Mother Goose

AGENCY: Florida Center for the Book at the Broward County Library

PROGRAM MISSION: The program’s mission is to train parents of children at-risk between the age of three and five how to encourage their children to read, how to address developmental issues with books, and how to improve their child’s reading skills.

SCOPE OF THE PROGRAM: The program involves the use of 12 high quality children’s books as well as an activity guide that helps parents use the stories and lessons in their everyday life.

FUNDING: Grant from a private foundation.

ELIGIBILITY: Parents of children at-risk from 3 to 5 years of age in Broward and Palm Beach counties. The program will be operating from June, 2000 to December, 2002.

FEES: The program free; no fees are charged.
