PROGRAM:
Read With Me Literacy Project

AGENCY: Piper Community School and The Governor’s Family Literacy Initiative for Florida (South Florida Annenberg Challenge/Barbara Bush Foundation),

PROGRAM MISSION: The purpose of the program is to provide a community based intervention, family intervention program for Pre-K to 3rd grade children and families. Training will help develop language and workforce skills.


SCOPE OF THE PROGRAM: Adults will improve their English language proficiency skills, workforce skillsand parenting skills. Children will increase reading readiness, social interaction and family relationships. Offered Monday – Thursday from 5:30 – 10p.m at Piper Community School (see appendix for location).

FUNDING: The Governor’s Family Literacy Initiative and public matching funds.

ELIGIBILITY: Children ages 3-8 years ( pre-K to 8 ), ESOL adult students and their children. ESOL adults must schore below 2.9 on the TABE test.

FEES: The program free; no fees are charged.
